I have done a bunch of research on this and the results seems all over the place. On some sites I am seeing that QA directors make 200k! That seems insane! I think some of the salary info is being mixed with process quality possibly.

Anyway, I am being offered a promotion to of QA (from QA Architect) where the salary would be $160k. I would have a chance to get a bigger increase at the end of the year though I don’t know what that would be. The raise is only 4% of my current salary.

I’m in the Boston area. From what I am seeing, it feels low maybe. I have over 15 years of experience. I would have expected at least a 7% increase for a promotion in any case.

Thoughts?
